Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actress, activist for animals and writer who was awarded numerous prizes. Her work has received acclaim for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) as well as The Getaway, (1972). She grew up in an artistic family in New York and wanted to take up a profession in the field of arts. She started as a photographic assistant and then moved on to acting and modeling. Her first two movies she received recognition as a winner of the Golden Globe Award as Most promising young actress. MacGraw's 1970 feature film Love Story was an international smash, and earned the actress the Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe Award. With just three movies MacGraw became the most popular female box office star across the globe. Her handprints as well as her signature were inscribed at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. Her other credits are The Getaway Convoy Players, television miniseries The Winds of War and others. In 1991, her autobiography Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw was married three times.
